Each content chapter is devoted to a different Key Idea in the Framework. A guiding principle of this book is to present information to students in a variety of modalities to stimulate student retention and in a visual pleasing manner. Graphic organizers, maps and pictures are used throughout the book to aide in student memory. Educational research has shown that students recall more information when content is read and presented with a related visual of the content. Content on each page is presented in small chunks so as not to overwhelm students with information that they are not required to know. Again, a variety of visual formats are employed to constantly present the content in a different format.
